Let me begin this blog post by apologising for my lack of regular posts and stating that this will continue to be the case until November. This is because I am now officially in the last year of my university degree and it is beyond hectic. One of my subjects is so large that it is recommended that you only do two other subjects alongside it and I am doing four alongside it which is well above the load I should do. Some of the subjects are pretty tough and I know that I will be focused on them. The best thing is though is that I will be done in January and I will never again have to study which means I will finally have time for gaming that I haven’t had in quite some time. Thank you for your continued understanding as this blog is my passion but my degree is of course incredibly important.

I have been a huge Neptunia fan for the longest time and so it was no surprise that I was to pick up the latest entry in the series – Super Neptunia RPG. I was intrigued by this game as it is the first game in the series to be developed in the west as opposed to in Japan. It was developed by Canadian team Artisan Studios. I enjoy looking at collector’s editions but I have really curbed my spending due to the fact that next year I will be moving to the USA and buying my first home. However, the minute that I saw this collector’s edition I absolutely had to have it.

Upon opening the box you will find the game -which shouldn’t have to be stated but you never know these days-, a deck of playing cards, an adorable Puddingo plush and a lovely collector’s box that includes the rest of the goodies!

Here you can see the front and back of the game with Neptune looking as adorable as ever front and foremost.

I really liked that this collector’s edition included a deck of playing cards as over the years mine have all seemed to have disappeared. The art on the cards are quite nice too. It is just a shame that the regular cards are rather plain. Some little nod would have been most welcome.

This was the item that originally sold me on the collector’s edition. It caught my eye straight away as it is absolutely adorable. How can you not like a little pudding with ears that seems so happy? You would have to be a monster. What a sweet little thing!

Open the box and you will find the steelbook. I generally don’t use them as they are more of a collectible item but I think that this one is quite nice.

The only downside is that the inside of the steelbook is blank. Which is a missed opportunity but I won’t often be looking at it anyway!

Next in the box is the Super Neptunia RPG official soundtrack. It is always great when the soundtrack provided is more than a sampler. I haven’t had the chance to listen to it yet due to the fact that I am currently on vacation in the USA but I do hope to give it a listen soon!

Finally, the last item in the collector’s edition is the artbook. Which is rather lovely.

Here is just a little snippet of pages that are included. I love an artbook that is filled with lovely illustrations and informative at the same time.

So that’s the collector’s edition. I haven’t had a chance to play it yet due to the fact that I am on vacation but I am excited to try it out. I have heard that it is quite different to other games in the series due to it being developed in the west but I am eager to see that for myself before I make any decisions on whether that is a positive or a negative thing.
