It’s the first day of 2017 and I am very excited about what this new year will bring me. 2016 was a very difficult trying year for me personally and as a result of that I was unable to really participate in my hobbies as much as I would have liked to. Therefore I have decided to list what my favourite things were out of the below categories as opposed to a Top Ten list this year as I honestly wouldn’t have ten of anything!
Favourite Game
Final Fantasy XIV
I enjoyed XIV at the start of the year but I stopped playing after I hit forty hours and never returned. Once I finished uni in October for the year I picked it up again and created a new character and I haven’t put it down since. I definitely understand the mechanics a lot more now. I’m a level 59 DRG and stuck into the HW content. I have SO many things that I want to do in game and I am super pumped for Stormblood!
Favourite Platinum
Final Fantasy VII
This just slips in as I actually achieved the platinum a year ago today. I didn’t achieve many platinums today and this would definitely be the one I had the most fun with. It was my first time playing Final Fantasy VII and I really enjoyed it. I suppose I probably would have liked it more if I played it when it was released but I still really enjoyed it.
Favourite Anime
Food Wars
I had a large list of anime I wanted to watch this year but that never really happened. I am even SO behind on Naruto! I watched Food Wars on impulse as I streamed it from Anime Lab and I had a lot of fun with it. For all of it’s fanservice-y glory it was pretty funny and the food looked absolutely amazing! It made me SO hungry. I could have eaten literally everything that they made albeit the awful smelling ones!
Favourite TV Show
Please Like Me
I have had a crush on Josh Thomas for the longest time. I used to watch the game show Talkin ‘Bout Your Generation and fell in love with him on that. So it was no surprise that I started watching his show when it aired. I caught up with it over the last week and I am so amazed by it! It has the perfect mix of comedy and emotions and it’s honestly one of my favourite shows of all time. I would recommend it to anyone. People totally should watch more Australian TV!
Favourite Movie
Moana
I have this bad habit of never watching any movies. In fact I have only watched three this year. Those are Star Wars: Episode VII, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV and Moana! One of my friends asked me the night before if I wanted to go see Moana and I thought why not! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it. I would watch it again. The only song that really stood out to me was ‘You’re Welcome’ but I really enjoyed it!
