E3 2016 has come and gone and all that is left are the trailers for upcoming games. I knew from the start that 2016 would be unable to live up to 2015 for me personally; however I still have five trailers that got me excited for the future!
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Horizon has been a slow burner for me. When it was initially announced I wasn’t interested but as time goes on I find myself more and more captivated by its interesting world. I really like the mech-like monsters that roam the game world. That is the biggest selling point to me. The game play in the 2016 E3 trailer above looked enjoyable too. I’m definitely going to give it a go.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
I would have picked this up either way as it’s Zelda but the trailer was gorgeous. Even Link himself didn’t look too shabby. It sounds like there is going to be a hell of a lot to do in game also. My only decision now is do I want it on WiiU or NX. I normally prefer the better platform but I don’t feel emotionally ready to upgrade just yet considering I have only used my WiiU sparingly when I’ve had people over. Decisions!
NieR: Automata
I am so nervous about this title as I enjoyed NieR so, so much and then played Drakengard 3. Nevertheless the game has looked amazing so far and I am fine with it being pushed into 2017. I thought 2016 seemed rather idealistic anyway. It looks like it is coming along well from the latest trailer so I guess we just have to wait and see!
Final Fantasy XV
I thought about leaving this out due to the random trailer music but I can’t. I am hyped for the game and I still did enjoy the trailer. It was just a little disheartening after the hype that was Uncovered. Regardless the trailer still had some interesting scenes. The boys all in suits and Leviathan casting a shadow over the city were personal highlights. Oh and who could forget cute VR Prompto!
The Last Guardian
My hype for this game is immense. I can’t believe we will be playing it so soon! Everything about it excites me. The way Trico moves and interacts with the player, the setting, the music. I am honestly more excited for this than FFXV. I remember watching the announcement trailer over and over again when I was living in England. That seems like a lifetime ago now. We finally got the date too! October isn’t very far away. 🙂
