This week I drew Uchiha Obito! It turned out to be a lot harder than I had initially anticipated as I failed to find a good reference image for the back of his torn cloak after his fight against Konan. I found one from the side and I went with that.
I also discovered that water is an impossibly hard thing to draw. After browsing through some other work I realised that it is a mix of many different shades of blue and I had no idea where to even begin!
I wanted to draw Amegakure in the background. I had to pass on that however as the buildings are too detailed and I am just not at that level. I have so many ideas in my head for drawings and I get frustrated as I just can’t draw them as I imagine them. I suppose I just need more practice! When I look at this image compared to what I was drawing in October, I can see that I have improved a lot. I know it will take many years to get to where I want to be so I just need to keep trying.
This image is the last time I am using Krita. I have had nothing but issues with it. It often changed settings and it would never save my layers. For this drawing I had to shade, do the water and background on the one layer. Which was an absolute pain. I am swapping to Sai and I here that you can fill instead of manually colour. That would be lovely. I have already scratched my Wacom terribly from colouring everything manually!
I can’t wait to use Sai over the weekend and see how I do!
Side note: I just released the latest chapter of my fanfic ‘The Sixth Hokages Rival’ which you can find here!
